Recherche Famille Obrenovic Knezevic (Jakovljevic)

Seeking any living members of family of Dorothea Ekaterina Darinka Dobrilla Dobrinka (not necessarily in that order). Born Belgrade 1928. Imprisoned and tortured by communists 1945-46. Sought refuge in Greece, arriving September 1946 in Athens, where she continued to use the name Dorothea Catherine Knezevic under protection of Greek government. There she met and married our father, Alexander Athanasiadis. Immigrated to Canada in 1950 and family name changed to Athans. Mom reverted back to Obrenovic as maiden name (see 1984 Canadian passport pic).

Dorothea's father Serb descent, born in Caucasus region of Russia 1898: Ivan Gregory Obrenovic Knezevic  (Jakovljevic) names figure in my Mother's baptismal record. High Russian officer and noble. Returned to Kingdom of Serbs, Croats and Slovenes ca. 1918-1920. Married Maria Natasha Obrenovic (may also be part of Masirevic family) in 1927. Maria Natasha was born in 1909 and passed away ca. 1970-1975. Dorothea was baptised in both the Serbian and Russian Orthodox faith (Ruzica at Kalemegdan and Russian Church in Belgrade - a "hybrid" baptism...unusual, but records in both).

I have placed several photos of Mom in her youth and her Canadian passport in later life. I hope someone will recognize her. I have also included a 1959 pic of my Mother Dorothea with her Mother, Maria Natasha and mu sister Barbara.

I know no one from our Mother's family. Dorothea passed away in 2008 in Ottawa, Canada. Desperately seeking family members or friends of family who may help: I wish to know our history, my lost family and where they may be buried in order to lay my precious Mother's ashes to rest with them.  My sincere apologies: I speak English and French, but not Serbian or Russian.
